Final prep before carpet/move-in

We are down to the wire and could really use some help to finish up in order to have a smooth move-in.

 

Here is a brief schedule and some "To Do" items to get the building ready for move-in condition.

 

Times to come: We work weekdays from 9am-5pm and some evenings. "To Do" Items: Below are some very specifice times you can help and the things we will need help with.  Please call prior to arriving just to make sure we are there.

 

Thurs/Fri - July 15-16; 9am - 5pm (Clean/remove trash, organize materials, put paint in rooms, clean lobby floor)

Sat - July 17; 9am - 3pm - (Clean lobby & classroom floors - Shopvack, mop, and sweep - REALLY need help this day)
Mon-Fri - July 19-23; 9am - 5pm (Paint touch up in all rooms)

Tue - Thurs - July 20 - 22; 6pm - 8pm (Paint touch up and Deep clean entire building)

Sat - July 24; 9am - 4pm (Final clean, Paint touch-up all walls/doors with paint and poly, Prep rooms for carpet) 

Mon - July 26; 9am-5pm (Prep all rooms for carpet)

We Can Still Use Help

Although we only have a month left until the bulk of the work is complete, we can still use your help!  How can you help this week?  1) We can always use water and snacks for the people who are working there each day. 2) We can always use help cleaning (trust me, there is plenty to do...). 3) We currently need help touching up paint in every room (contact mark@takeajourney.org for details).  4) We could use a couple carpenters who enjoy doing detail work with wood or metal. 5) We could use a couple people to clean the bathroom once a week.

We also need your prayers.  Our mission with this space is to see it be a place where we can "Help People Follow Jesus".  Pray with us for that to happen and for the funds to come in for it's completion.  We are still about $400,000.00 shy of our goal.  Thanks for all who have sacrificed of your time, talents, and treasure!

Coming down to the wire...

There is just about a month left before we will be able to receive our certificate of occupancy.  It's very exciting to see how this project has come together and to see how many people have united together to construct this space.  See some of our current pictures:

Our vision at Journey Church is "To help people follow Jesus".  We pray that God will be gracious enough to use this new space as a place of restoration for many, many, people in the Raleigh area.

Financially... We have raised over $170,000 of the $600,000 that we will need to complete the project.  Please continue to pray with us for God to provide the funds necessary to complete this space, so that we will be able to continue to do ministry debt free.

The HVAC and electric rough-in is being completed this week and we will paint the walls white and the ceiling black on Thursday.  Come by to see the progress and lend a hand cleaning.  We can always use a case of water too.

The walls and sheetrock will be completed in the next week and a half, then it will be time to start painting.  Stay in contact with your ministry directors to see how you can help.

We can always us a hand during the week to clean up from the day to day construction.  Our contractors would always appreciate an occasional case of water or plate of cookies.  If you speak Spanish, it is also a great opportunity to come and encourage all of our hard working laborers.

Construction Progress - April 12-16

This week we will continue installing & finishing sheetrock, installing HVAC duct work & units, installing Electrical wiring, installing plumbing fixtures in the Kids bathrooms, and more cleaning.

Please feel free to come by during the week to say hi, see the progress, take some pictures, and pat some of our workers on the back.  We could always use water and some help to scrape the floors in preparation for tile installation.

Continue to pray and give.  We believe that God will provide financially for this new Journey space.  By having a bigger space, we will be able to help "even more" people follow Jesus in the Raleigh area.  If you haven't given financially to the new space then please consider and pray about how God might use you to fund this project.  Getting in, debt free is our goal and prayer!

How Can You Help?

Many of you want to know 'How can I help?'  Right now we are in high gear finishing the Sheetrock and electric/HVAC rough-ins, and soon it will be time to paint (what many of you have asked to help with).  So here's what we need currently and in the near future:

What We Need: Donations of tile flooring, grout, paint, drop ceiling grid, cabinets, bathroom hardware, and bathroom stall dividers.  Volunteers (Professional and Non-professional) to help: hang insulation, remove trash, install tile flooring, install drop ceiling grid, prime/paint ceilings & walls with sprayers, tear up concrete, and scrape floors.

We also need prayer that God will miraculously provide the finances, materials, and labor needed to continue and complete this space that will be a vehicle to see many believers grow in their faith and many non-believers come to know Jesus as Lord.

Construction Continues & Prayer Needed

We recently passed several crucial city inspections and are in high gear with construction.  Please feel free to come by and take a look at what is happening...It's very exciting to see this new building come together.  Continue to pray with us for additional funds, labor, and resources to come in this week.  We have spent about $125,000.00 up to this point, and that pretty much has tapped out our cash in the bank.  We need your prayers that God will miraculously provide the additional $375,000.00 necessary to complete this project.  This is a huge faith move for Journey Church. We believe that God will provide in ways beyond ourselves because this effort is not about "A Building", but it is about "The Mission" of 'Helping People Follow Jesus'.

On top of the funds needed now, here are some other ways you can help: 1)Installing insulation,
